Pacific Northwest College of Art, USA
The Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon in the USA at the Faculty of the Victorian Collge of the Arts and the University of Melbourne have agreed to begin exchanging students studying Fine Arts. Nankai University, China
Nankai Univeristy and the University of Melbourne have agreed to begin exchanging students. All classes are in Mandarin Chinese. The formal exchange begins in semester 2, 2009. See the entry under China in the partner list for the relevant links to the Nankai University website.
Academy of Fine Arts Mainz, Germany
The Academy of Fine Arts Mainz and the Faculty of the Victorian Collge of the Arts at the University of Melbourne have agreed to begin exchanging students studying Fine Arts. John and Betty McCreery travelling/study scholarship 2008
The John and Betty McCreery Travelling/Study Scholarships are to assist with travel undertaken by undergraduate or postgraduate students studying within the Faculty of Science or School of Medicine who are Australian citizens and can demonstrate financial need. Some examples of the type of travel that can be supported are: travel for the purposes of postgraduate research or study, for studying overseas on exchange or study abroad , the completion of a unit of study conducted overseas, or attendance at a conference or seminar. Travel for other purposes can also be considered.

The University of Nottingham,one of the University of Melbourne's U21 exchange partners in the United Kingdom, has once again been ranked by The Sunday Times Good University Guide as one of the most outstanding teaching and research universities in Britain. The University of Nottingham Ningbo, China
The Univeristy of Nottingham in the UK has a campus at Ningbo, south of Hangzhou Bay from Shanghai in China. Students from the University of Melbourne can now study there on exchange for a semester or a year. All classes are in English. The formal exchange begins in semester 2, 2009. 2008 grants for travel in 2009
The Walter Mangold Trust Fund will, in 2008, undertake a round of grants for Australian students to study abroad. This grant round will open on 1 September 2008 and close on 17 October 2008. It is anticipated successful applicants will travel overseas for study in 2009. For the 2008 round, the Fund will give priority to those students who will be studying Indonesian, Chinese, Japanese or Spanish languages. The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel
The Hebrew Univeristy of Jerusalem and the University of Melbourne have agreed to begin exchanging students. The first students will be able to exchange in semester 2, 2009. International travelling studios
The Melbourne School of Design is offering two fantastic, interdisciplinary travelling studios in Semester 2 – one to Nanjing in China and one to Genoa in Italy. Each travelling studio has a quota of places.
Applicants will be assessed and selected by a committee on the basis of academic merit and an ‘expression of interest' statement. Pre-trip briefings or seminars will precede the travel component of each studio. The studios will incur travel costs, in addition to tuition fees. Faculty subsidies will, however, be available.

DAAD scholarships available for a Deutschlandkundlicher Winterkurs in Germany
In cooperation with the Universities of Essen, Freiburg, Leipzig, and the institute Fubis in Berlin, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) intends to offer scholarships for a six (four)-week Deutschlandkundlicher Winterkurs from January to February 2009. This is an exciting opportunity for students and junior faculty members with a sound knowledge of German wanting to improve their language skills and understanding of contemporary affairs.
The course is open to all Australian and New Zealand undergraduates, graduates and junior faculty members, except graduates involved in German and German faculty courses. All lectures of this course will be held in German.
