Before you apply, make sure you have
- Read the information in our Before you apply section
- Determined which program you will apply for: Study Abroad or Exchange?
- Checked your Eligibility
- Selected your subjects and had your plans approved by an advisor at your home institution
- Assembled your supporting documentation and checked for any Faculty-specific requirements.

The complete application process usually takes two months (or more, depending on subject or faculty requirements) from application to visa issue - begin your application as early as possible!
Your application takes three steps:
- Register your personal details to get a University of Melbourne ID number and Personal Identification Number (PIN)
- Submit your Online Application.
Note: Once you begin your online application, you cannot save and re-enter. We recommend you assemble your documentation before you begin.
Make sure you record your acknowledgement number and check your email for your application acknowledgement. - Print your application and send it to us with your Supporting documentation.
Once your application and supporting documentation are sent, you can begin planning your housing, visa, pre-departure briefing and arrival, and watch your email for your offer letter.
