Unique to the University of Melbourne is the Melbourne Welcome, an exciting 4 day orientation program for study abroad and exchange students.
"G'day, good afternoon and welcome on this beautiful day to this beautiful city of Melbourne."
Hosted by Australian students at a residential college, the Melbourne Welcome provides you with a smooth transition into University life, starting with a traditional Australian barbeque.
As well as meeting other international students, you'll also learn some Australian slang, and find out about what makes Australia unique. Your hosts take you on excursions around the city of Melbourne, using the popular tram system, you will visit landmark places and begin to discover the city where you will be living.
