Finding Out About Exchange
Information sessions
The first step to take when considering an overseas exchange is to attend an Exchange application information session.
At these sessions, Melbourne Global Mobility staff will discuss aspects of going on exchange and explain the application process. You are encouraged to ask questions!
In addition to the weekly sessions, there are country, faculty and occasionally institution-specific information sessions offered at lunch times during semester. Students should check the What's New? page and the Information Sessions registration site for further information about these events.
Resource room
Melbourne Global Mobility has a Resource Room, open 9:00am-5:00pm, Monday to Friday, where students can look up general information on prospective overseas institutions in up-to-date handbooks and information packages. Melbourne Global Mobility staff are also on hand to help you with any particular queries. Find us at Level 1 in the Old Geology Building.
Faculty advisors
Each faculty has advisors available to assist potential and current exchange students. Some faculties will also run information sessions on the exchange program throughout the semester. To see the list of Faculty advisors go to the Faculty advisors webpage.
Returned Exchange students
Melbourne Global Mobility is able to provide contact details of recently returned exchange students, or students currently overseas, who may be able to advise you about particular exchange destinations. Making contact can be especially useful for those students seeking advice about finances, accommodation and the process of enroling into an overseas institution.
