Selection Criteria
All students
University of Melbourne exchange agreements with overseas partner institutions usually specify a certain number of places which will be available to Melbourne students. These numbers vary for each institution. If there are too many applicants for one institution, students are selected according to academic merit. Melbourne Global Mobility will rank students according to a weighted academic average taken over completed subjects in the faculty for which their exchange studies will be credited.
When approving a student's application for exchange, consideration is also given to his or her ability to be a good ambassador for the University of Melbourne.
Melbourne Global Mobility can usually secure a place at an overseas institution for all students accepted on the Melbourne Global Mobility Exchange Program. If your first preference is not available, you will be notified and nomination for a second or third preference will be discussed.
