Aitchison Travelling Scholarship
The Aitchison Travelling Scholarship was established with the aim of helping an undergraduate student in financial need to study overseas for at least one semester at an approved institution.
One scholarship is available annually to a currently enrolled student at the University of Melbourne and will be awarded in May every year.
Benefit
A one-off payment of $5,000.
Eligibility criteria

You must:
- be an undergraduate student who has completed one year (at least 75 points) towards the course for which you are seeking to study overseas;
- be able to demonstrate financial need;
- have been accepted into a course of study at an approved institution overseas and will receive credit for that study of at least 25 points towards your University of Melbourne course; and
- have demonstrated academic success in your course, usually an average of 70% or higher.
Application
The Aitchison Travelling Scholarship will be awarded during consideration of Melbourne Global Mobility Financial Assistance. Both Exchange and Study Abroad students need to complete an application form for Melbourne Global Mobility Financial Assistance and submit it to the Undergraduate Scholarships Office by the due date.

Due Dates
Applications are due by the following dates:
Round 1 - for travel on or after 1 May and before 1 November apply by 20 May*
Round 2 - for travel on or after 1 November and before 1 May of the following year apply by 20 October*
* Where the date falls on a weekend, applications can be submitted on the following Monday. Late applications cannot be accepted.
Selection
Selection will be based on financial need as demonstrated in your application form but consideration will also be given to academic merit.
