Melbourne Global Mobility For Outgoing Students

Work and Internship Opportunities

A small number of opportunities exist for students to undertake internships and work experience abroad. As work experience and internships are not a common requirement in courses at the University, most opportunities that do exist will not carry credit but do provide a valuable experience by undertaking formal training in an international context.

One such opportunity is the Uni-Capitol Washington Internship Program, which allows students from 8 Australian universities to apply for 12 internship places annually to House and Senate offices within the US Congress. UCWIP interns participate in 2 month full time internships each January/February, and are accorded unique access to the US political system and institutions across their internships. For more information on the UCWIP, please contact Miranda Stewart in the Faculty of Law, or Thomas Davis in the Faculty of Arts.

For work and internship opportunities that may be possible for your course, please contact your Student Centre.
