Melbourne Global Mobility

How to Apply

The Global Issues Program is administered by a coordinator, based at the University of Melbourne in Melbourne Global Mobility. Interested students can contact the coordinator directly or apply via the Universitas 21 website.

University of Melbourne applicants must satisfy the following selection criteria:

• be concurrently enrolled in an undergraduate degree course at the University of Melbourne; and
• have obtained a weighted grade point average of at least H2B (70%) across all subjects so far completed in the concurrent degree course; and
• have completed at least 100 points of study in the concurrent degree course; and
• be at least six months (50 credit points) away from completing the concurrent degree course.

Once enrolled, students may not graduate from the Certificate until their degree studies have also been completed. Students will be enrolled in the Certificate on the same fee-paying basis as their degree course. Places in the Certificate are limited to 25 students per year and applications are assessed on a competitive basis.

Students enrolled in an Honours program are ineligible to commence the Certificate. Students enrolled in a bachelor degree program that is being taught out may not be eligible to commence the Certificate.

University of Melbourne applicants must apply by the deadline of 15th October for studies commencing in the period January-March the following year. Applications for studies commencing June-September must be submitted by 15th May. Click here to visit the Universitas 21 site to apply. Late applications may be accepted.

NOTE: International students on student visas studying their degree at Melbourne cannot enrol in the GIP, unless they are able to overload the certificate subjects or enrol in Summer term and complete within the duration of their undergraduate degree. International students must seek explicit permission from their home faculty/school to enrol in this program in addition to their degree studies.
