Program Options
The GIP consists of four subjects (sometimes called modules, courses or units), which equate to a semester of full-time study, although it is typically spread over a students' latter degree stages. Each of the U21 partners who offer the GIP do so in a slightly different format. To check if you are eligible to apply, submit a query.
The Universitas 21 Global Issues Program is an undergraduate multidisciplinary concurrent certificate taught by the University of Melbourne in conjunction with the Universities of British Columbia (Canada), Hong Kong (China), and Nottingham (United Kingdom), Queensland (Australia), Lund (Sweden), and Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico).
The GIP is designed to address the particular demands of undergraduate students who have an interest in global studies and who wish to combine this study with a degree at a Universitas 21 partner. Students are expected to complete fifty percent of the GIP through at least one other partner university, whether online or by studying overseas on exchange.
Subject offerings may differ slightly each year, and include both campus-based subjects and wholly online subjects. Many are repeated throughout the calendar year, and some are offered in intensive mode.
All students must take one core, plus three electives of their choosing.
